A circular from LIC with the headline "IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITHDRAWAL OF ALL LIC PLANS" is going viral on social media. According to the viral circular, the LIC of India is going to withdraw all insurance products/plans for revision on 30 September 2024.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the viral circular was fake. Here's the fact check.

Fact Check

While going through the circular, we noticed some grammatical errors in it. This raised doubt about the authenticity of the circular.

Therefore, in the beginning, we searched for the circular on the official website of LIC India. There was no such circular on the website.

Moving forward, using relevant keywords, we found a tweet from PIB Fact Check. Attaching the viral circular PIB Fact Check said that the circular was fake.

The official X handle of LIC India reposted this tweet.

All India Radio News also reported that the circular is fake. The post on their official Facebook page read, "Press Information Bureau denies the rumours about an alleged notice issued by #LIC that it is going to withdraw all insurance products and plans for revision by the end of this month.

The counterfeit notice claimed that the revision will bring a change in premium, and policy terms and conditions. The Fact Check Unit says that the claim is fake and no such notice has been issued by the Insurance agency".



From this, it is clear that the claim is false. The viral circular is fake.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. LIC India has not issued any circular regarding the withdrawal of all LIC plans. The viral circular is fake.
