A video of a massive flood went viral on social media with the claim that it shows the flood situation in Assam on August 4, 2026.

However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was misleading. The video is not from Assam. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a report on a verified YouTube channel, “Udayavani”, where the viral video was uploaded on August 3, 2026.

According to the caption, the video shows a flood situation in Chittarikkal, Kerala.

We found the same video on the YouTube channel “Manorama Online News” on August 1, 2026.

According to the report, many parts of the Kasaragod and Kannur districts in Kerala were submerged due to heavy rains.

We found another similar report on the YouTube channel of ” Mathrubhumi News” on August 1, 2026. According to the report, the video is from Kannur district, Kerala.

This makes it clear that the video is from Kerala.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show the flood situation in Assam on August 4, 2026. According to reports, the video shows the flood situation in Kerala.
