A video of Christian clergymen marching alongside a large crowd at night, escorted by police personnel, is going viral on social media. Users who share the video claim that this video is connected to the recently concluded Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Delhi. The caption states, “Church Fathers arrived in large numbers at night to join students at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. They stood in solidarity with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest.”
Let’s check the truth.
Fact check:
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to an Instagram post carrying a similar video.
This indicates that the viral video predates the CJP protest in Delhi and is unrelated to it.
When we analysed the video carefully, we found the procession passing a building housing a clinic named Sambhav.

A keyword search for the clinic’s name led us to the Facebook page of a cancer treatment clinic in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, which had shared a similar image featuring the same signboard.

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found many media reports regarding this incident. As per a report by Dainik Bhaskar published on 8 May 2026, “The Christian community in Meerut undertook its annual pilgrimage on foot from St. Joseph’s Church at Begumpul to the historic Sardhana Church in Sardhana. Thousands of devotees from Meerut and neighbouring districts participated in the journey, which commenced around midnight on May 7.”
So, all this evidence confirms that the viral video predates the CJP protest and has no connection to it.
Conclusion
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be misleading. This is an old video from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. It predates the CJP protest and has no connection to it.
