Fact Check
We started our investigation by conducting a relevant keyword search. This led us to a longer version of the video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of NDTV on 26 May 2024. The description of the video read, “Nitish Kumar today accidentally suggested that he wishes Prime Minister Narendra Modi becomes a Chief Minister again. However, the 73-year-old’s slip of tongue was caught by the other leaders on the stage. Correcting course, Mr Kumar said.”
A similar video was uploaded on the official Facebook page of Times Now on 27 May 2024. The caption of the video reads, “Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s another gaffe has gone viral on social media wherein he could be heard saying that he wishes to see Narendra Modi become ‘Chief Minister’ one more time. Kumar was addressing a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally pitching for PM Modi’s leadership amid the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections.”

This makes it clear that the viral video is old.
