A video post is going viral on social media claiming that all PhonePe users will get free cashback worth around ₹5000.
Several readers sent this post to Fact Crescendo to verify its truth. After checking the details, we found that this is a fake offer and part of a cashback fraud.
WHAT’S THE CLAIM?
The post includes a link (inaam.win) and a message saying, “Congratulations! All PhonePe users will get free cashback. Claim it now. Offer valid only for today!”
FACT-CHECK
When we checked PhonePe’s official website and verified their accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and LinkedIn, we did not find any announcement or post about any such cashback offer.
If PhonePe had actually launched such a big reward program, it would have been mentioned on their official channels, but there is nothing.
The viral post also includes a link to a website named inaam.win, which supposedly allows users to claim the reward. But when we checked, this link did not lead to any valid PhonePe page.
Instead, it redirected to another incomplete website called weebin.info, which looks like a dummy or test site, not a real one.
According to domain registration data, the link was created only in early September, just a month ago, another probable sign of a fake setup.

Cashback Frauds
PhonePe itself has already issued a public warning on its blog about such cashback frauds.
The company warns users to stay alert when receiving messages or links that promise “cashback rewards”, “scratch-cards” or “surprise offers” from PhonePe.
How it works?
Fraudsters send SMSs, WhatsApp messages or social-media posts that look like they’re from PhonePe, asking users to click a link to “unlock rewards”.
These links might also appear to come from fake social-media pages or websites that mimic PhonePe’s name and logo.
You might end up sharing your UPI PIN, OTP or bank details — or you might accidentally send money to the scammer.
PhonePe says that users do not need to enter their UPI PIN, share OTPs, or click on external links. Any message requesting UPI PIN or asking to follow a link to “claim” a reward is a red flag.
Police have also issued warning regarding such scams.
CONCLUSION
The viral post claiming that PhonePe is giving ₹4,390 as free cashback to everyone is completely false. PhonePe has not announced any such offer. It is a fake post and part of a scam.
If you ever receive such links or messages, do not click on them or share your bank details. Check only on the official PhonePe app or website for real offers.
