Recently a video of a bride and a groom went viral on social media. The bride and the groom, dressed in traditional wedding attire, can be seen sitting on a sofa while two women perform a ritual. Sharing the video users claimed that the bride passed away a day before the wedding, but the family performed a traditional ceremony before cremation at the Ganges. Sharing the video on Instagram, a user wrote, “In a heart-wrenching incident in India, a young woman who passed away just one day before her wedding was given a unique farewell by her grieving family. They conducted a traditional wedding ceremony, dressing her as a bride, before taking her body to the Ganges River for cremation. The rituals honoured her final journey, blending the sacred rites of marriage and death. Locals gathered to witness the emotional event, which highlighted the deep cultural beliefs surrounding unfulfilled destiny. The family, though devastated, found solace in giving her the farewell they believed she deserved.”
