However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was false. The viral video doesn’t show PM Modi. Here’s the fact check.

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram handle where a video was uploaded on March 30, 2026. We noticed a clip similar to the viral video.

From the caption, we learned that the video is from the Ram Navami Rally in Roulkela. The caption mentioned “Narendra Modi Look Alike”.
Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a report on a YouTube channel on March 28, 2026. The video featured the person in the viral video who is going viral as PM Modi.

The translation of the description read, “A man in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s get-up was seen in the Ramanavami Akhada procession in Rourkela. No one can easily resist him because he bears a striking resemblance to Modi. From the timestamp 0:20, the man can be seen interacting with a reporter. He said that he is from Udupi, Karnataka and his name is “Sadananda Nayak”. He was invited to participate in the Ram Navami Rally in Roulkela.
Moreover, PIB Fact Check on their official X handle tweeted that the video doesn’t show PM Modi. The person in the viral video is a lookalike of PM Modi.
This makes it clear that the person in the viral video is not PM Modi.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show PM Modi in a rally. The video features Sadananda Nayak, a lookalike of PM Modi.
