Amidst ongoing war between Israel and Iran, a video footage showing destruction of a street is going viral on social media. It is being claimed that the video is of a street in Tel Aviv, capital of Israel after an attack by Iran.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video from Philadelphia after a plane crash. This video is not related to the Israel-Iran war.
What’s the claim?
Sharing the video, a social media user wrote, “It has been confirmed: the video is indeed from Tel Aviv. Tonight is no longer night – the sky has become a mouth of fire, and missiles multiply as if creatures are emerging from the earth, more like the ending of a horror movie than a news broadcast”
Fact Check-
A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video that was uploaded to a YouTube channel on February 1, 2025. The video’s caption reads, “Update on the plane that crashed in Philadelphia.”
According to a February 2025 report, a medical transport jet carrying six people, including a young patient and her mother, crashed into a residential area in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday evening, causing an explosion. All passengers on board were killed. 19 others were injured. The plane crashed just 30 seconds after taking off from a Northeast Philadelphia airport.
According to another report, a small medical plane crashed in Philadelphia on 31 January 2025 shortly after taking off. The aircraft was carrying six people, including a young girl who had received medical treatment and was returning home to Mexico with her mother. The plane crashed near a shopping mall, causing an explosion that killed 2 more people and injured 20.
Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. Video footage of a plane crash in Philadelphia shared as a scene from Tel Aviv after Iran’s attack.
