Our investigation began with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to similar video uploaded on the Abc7 News Facebook account on 14 June, 2016. The caption states that it shows magnesium-fuelled explosion that happened while fire crews battled an enormous fire near Los Angeles. This indicates that the viral video is old not related to the recent tension.

Upon further search, we found more reports of this incident. According to CBS News report published on 15 June, 2016, that the fire triggered a series of explosions, sending a thick plume of toxic smoke into the air. When firefighters attempted to douse the flames with water, the reaction between water and burning magnesium intensified the fire and triggered the blasts.

Taking account of these evidences, we can say that the footage depicts a magnesium fire in Maywood, California in June 2016 and nothing related to the Iran strikes in Israel 2026.
