
A video is going viral on social media, claiming to depict an Iranian missile strike on Israel during a live broadcast. The footage shows reporters on a road at night, holding microphones and following an individual when a sudden explosion occurs nearby. The crew is seen fleeing in the opposite direction.
The caption of the video states, “Israelis get hit by Iranian missile during a live overnight broadcast”.

Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to similar video uploaded on the YouTube channel of AFP News on 27 August 2023. The caption states, “Massive gas station explosion kills one, injures 46 in Romania”.
The description part states, “One person died and 46 were injured after two explosions rocked a liquified petroleum gas station close to Romania’s capital Bucharest on August 26. The injured includes 26 firefighters who rushed to the scene in Crevedia commune, north of the capital”.
Upon further search, we found a video report published by Euronews on 27 August 27, 2023, which included a longer version of the same footage. The report stated that the video shows an explosion at an unlicensed petrol station in Crevedia, Romania.
As per the BBC report, at least two people died and 56 were injured after two blasts at a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) station in Romania. The injured included 39 firefighters who went to the scene following the first explosion near the capital Bucharest on 26 August 2023.
Based on these evidences, we can understand that the old video from a gas station explosion in Romania and was falsely shared as an Iranian attack on Israel.
Conclusion
Fact crescendo found that the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The viral video shows an explosion at the LPG station in Romania in 2023.
