We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video posted by Berbere Television on X on 7 August, 2020 with the caption: “Algiers — it happened tonight at 10:00 p.m. in Belouizdad”.

Moving forward we found a similar video on a TikTok account also, it was uploaded in 2023.

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and we found several videos resembling the clip. The text along the video states, football fans launching fireworks and flares in Algeria’s capital Algiers after CR Belouizdad won the Algerian championship in 2020.

Reuters identified the use of red flares as being synonymous with the celebrations often carried out by CR Belouizdad supporters. So, taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that an old video of public celebration of a football team in Algiers falsely shared as multiple fires in the centre of Tel Aviv caused by Iranian missiles.
