Scripted video goes viral as a real incident of an elderly Muslim man forcibly marries a minor girl

A video going viral on social media shows an elderly Muslim man in wedding attire pulling the hand of young bride while she screams and says in Bengali that she does not want to go with him. The accompanying claim states that a 75-year-old Muslim man married a 16-year-old girl against her will. 

However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim was misleading. The viral video is scripted and does not show a real incident. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation with a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a longer version of the similar video uploaded on a Facebook page named ‘Wedding Studio’ on 30 November 2025. The visuals seen in the viral clip match those posted on this page. The post’s caption noted, “Goodbye to the bride. This video is completely different; you will understand if you watch it.” We also found several similar videos on the same page, indicating that the content is part of a series of staged wedding-themed videos.

We went through this Facebook page and found the description which noted, “No one will take our videos serio. Our reels are created for your entertainment only and have no resemblance to reality or any such event. I do not make any videos against. Please, none of you make religious comments. We respect all religions. The account is based in Bangladesh.

Similar video was also found uploaded on a YouTube channel which usually shares wedding-related content. The viral clip appears on this channel as well. Upon reviewing the channel’s other uploads, we discovered that several marriage-related videos feature the same individuals seen in the viral video. This indicates that the content is scripted.

So, the viral video showing an elderly Muslim man forcibly marrying a minor girl is scripted and does not depict a real incident.

Conclusion From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video does not show a real incident. It was created by a social media page named “Wedding Studio,” which specialises in producing scripted content centered around weddings.
