Fact Check-

We started our investigation by performing a reverse image search with the key frames of the viral video and the results led us to several news reports from October 2025 stating the footage is from a plane crash at Paramillo Airport in Tachira, Venezuela. Reports from The Mirror and India Today dated October 2025, carrying the same viral footage.

As per reports, a twin-engine Piper PA-31T1 Cheyenne aircraft crashed shortly after take-off killing two people on board and injuring others on 23 October, 2025. Venezuelan aviation authorities had launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

As the video gained traction on social media, the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Maharashtra, clarified about that on 29 January 2026 through a post on its verified X handle. The DGIPR stated, “The video going viral on social media, claiming to be of a plane crash involving Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is fake. This video is not of the accident that occurred in Baramati on January 28, 2026, but of an old plane crash that took place in Venezuela in October 2025. The ‘Piper PA-31T1 Cheyenne’ aircraft had crashed while taking off from Venezuela’s Paramiillo Airport”.

However, the evidences states that the viral video is old and not related to the recent plane crash of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This is an old video of a plane crash from Venezuela. It is not related to the plane crash of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
