A video of a massive gathering of Muslims chanting “Allah Allah” is going viral on social media, with claims that it is from Assam and that the crowd had assembled to pray for the defeat of Prime Minister Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The visuals showed hundreds of people wearing skull caps and reciting prayers.

Fact Check-
We began our investigation by conducting a reverse image search on Google, which led us to a similar video uploaded on Facebook on 27 November by user Ruhin Quazi. The caption states, “Great #Allah’s Zikir is Mukh #Charmonai Mahfil, Ograyana 2025.Let the heart awaken, faith be renewed”.
Moving forward, we found several other posts with the same video from other angles and in one such post, we noticed a banner on the stage displaying the words Charmonai Awaaz Mehfil, confirming that the visuals are from this event.
A comparison image shows the visual similarities between the viral video and the video uploaded by the Facebook user.
Next, we conducted keyword search for Charmonai Mahfil and the results led us to report published by The Business Standard. As per the reports, Charmonai Mahfil is an event organised at the Charmonai Darbar Sharif in Barisal, Bangladesh. It is a massive traditional Islamic religious gathering held twice a year: once in the Bengali month of Agrahayan and once in Falgun. The 2025 Falgun Mahfil began on February 19, while the most recent Agrahayan Mahfil was from November 26 to 28.
