Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away at his home in Mumbai on 24 November, 2025, at the age of 89. He died of complications from heart disease after a prolonged illness. The funeral held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu on the same day. The funeral ceremony was attended by family members and many celebrities from Bollywood. Dharmendra, affectionately referred to as the He-Man of the film industry, enjoyed a remarkable career that spanned over six decades and included more than 300 films. His passing was met with widespread mourning.

Against this backdrop, a video of a large crowd going viral on social media with claims that it showed people gathered in to pay their last respects to Dharmendra.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a report by the Northeast news published on 21 September 2025 carrying the screenshot of the video under the caption, “Sea of people flock Guwahati streets as Zubeen Garg begins final journey home”. This indicates that the viral video shows the last journey of the renowned singer Zubeen Garg, in Guwahati, Assam.

Moving forward, we found an extended version of the viral video uploaded on CNN-News 18’s YouTube page. The video shows the visuals are from the funeral procession of singer Zubeen Garg in Guwahati on 19 September, after he died in a scuba diving accident.

These evidences confirm that this viral video is unrelated to Dharmendra’s funeral procession. The video is actually from the final journey of Zubeen Garg.

Additionally, we conducted search for Dharmendra’s funeral and found a YouTube livestream by NDTV and it shows a peaceful cremation ceremony with no large street procession, confirming that the viral video is unrelated.

Conclusion- Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This viral video is from Zubeen Garg’s funeral procession in Guwahati, not from Dharmendra’s funeral.
