A video of a fire went viral on social media, claiming it to be an Indian attack on the Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi, recently.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The video is old and shows a collision of tankers in front of the Nur Khan Airbase. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a YouTube channel where the viral video was uploaded on 7 December 2023.

According to the description, the video shows a collision of tankers in front of the Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi.

We found the same video on a Facebook page uploaded on 7 December 2023. The caption of the post read, “Tankers collided in front of Nur Khan Airbase – Old Airport. People are requested to avoid the road. Fire all over. Give way to emergency services.

#Rawalpindi #oldairportroad #carsenthusiastspakistan”

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show an Indian attack on the Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi, recently. The video is old and shows a collision of tankers in front of the Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi, in 2023.
