Recently a video of an arch bridge went viral on social media claiming it to be the Srinagar to Delhi NH 44 road.
However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is not from India but from China. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet on the X handle “China News” where a few images of a bridge similar to that of the viral video were uploaded on 20 October 2024. The caption of the tweet reads, “The 1,427-meter Dafaqu Grand Bridge, located in Zunyi, southwest China’s #Guizhou Province, is a large-span concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge. As one of the key projects along the Renhuai-Zunyi expressway, the bridge closes the distance between Zunyi and Renhuai. It was praised as an engineering marvel created by Guizhou construction engineers. #AmazingChina”
Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. We found a video similar to the viral video on a Facebook page with a caption,”The Dafaqu Extra Large Bridge in Guizhou is another steel-concrete arch bridge with six lanes in both directions. #amazingchina.”

We found several news reports containing images similar to the one in the viral video.
It is worth mentioning that the Chenab rail bridge is an arch bridge. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the final section of Katra to Sangaldan stretch of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), a 272-kilometre-long project, on April 19.
This makes it clear that the bridge in the viral video is Dafaqu bridge in China.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the Srinagar to Delhi NH 44 road. The video shows the Dafaqu bridge in China.
