Those who shared the image have linked it to the recently held 76th Republic Day parade.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search and we found that the same tableau in live streaming of the 65th Republic Day Parade on Doordarshan National’s YouTube channel on 26 January, 2014. This indicates that the viral image is not recent and not related to the 76 th Republic Day parade.
We also found a video uploaded by NDTV featuring Tipu Sultan’s tableau during the Republic parade of 2014 under the title, “200 years later, Tipu Sultan’s Karnataka debates his legacy”. The description part states that Tipu Sultan became the subject of a hot debate after the Karnataka government chose to feature the 18th-century Indian ruler during the Republic Day parade in Delhi.
Upon further search, we found that during the 76th Republic Day parade in 2025, Karnataka’s tableau showcased the intricate and artistic temples of the historic city of Lakkundi. Located in the Gadag district of Karnataka, Lakkundi is renowned as the “cradle of stone craft”.

Fact Crescendo found that the claim made along with the viral image to be Misleading. This image is from Republic Day 2014. It has not related to the Republic Day 2025. Karnataka’s tableau for the 76th Republic Day parade on January 26, 2025, featured the ornate and magnificent temples of Lakkundi, an ancient city.
