This viral video is scripted and does not show a real incident

A video showing a young woman with vermilion on her forehead, dressed in a red saree standing next to an older man, has gone viral on social media. In the video, the man claims the woman is his daughter, and she says she married her father. The wedding was conducted in a temple according to Hindu rituals and traditions. After the ceremony, they spoke to the media, stating that no one should have any problem now, as both parties are in agreement and willing.”
When someone in the crowd questioned the woman about feeling ashamed, the father retorted, “In which era are you living? Why be ashamed?” The duo also responded to queries about why they made the video public, with the woman explaining that it was to silence those who gossiped about their bond. In the video, the young woman claims that she is 24 years old. The one standing next to her claims that she is 50 years old.
Media outlets such as Zee News and Deccan Herald also published reports about the viral video without verifying the authenticity of the video.

Fact Check-
We started the investigation with reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a YouTube channel named Royal Tiger. An extended version of the viral video was uploaded there on 2 November 2024. This seven-minute-long video shows the woman and the man being confronted by a few people in the background. Initially, the woman claims he is her father but later clarifies that he is her father-in-law and that they got married because her husband stays elsewhere. The viral clip has been taken from between 0:14-minute to 2-12-minute time frame of the original video.
But at the 0:47 timestamp in the video, the disclaimer in the video clarifies that the content is meant for entertainment purposes only. This suggests that the incident shown in the video is fictional and scripted.
By closely reviewing the YouTube channel we found that the man who was with the young woman is also seen playing the role of an auto driver in another video uploaded on the YouTube channel and the channel primarily shares scripted contents. The man and the woman featured in the viral video can also be seen acting in several other scripted videos. Such scripted videos can be seen here and here. This makes it clear that the viral video is not real but scripted.
The YouTube channel is linked with an Instagram handle named Ankita Karotiya, we found that she describes herself as a video creator and prankstar from Delhi in her bio.
Upon further search, we found the same viral video was also uploaded on a Facebook page named Ankita Karotia on 2 November 2024. On Facebook, Ankita Karotia described herself as a digital creator and actor.
We contacted Ankita Karotia for more information about the video. The story will be updated when a response is received.

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This viral video is scripted and does not show a real incident According to the disclaimer of the original video, it was shot for entertainment purposes.
