Users are claiming that this house belongs to Liton Das, Bangladeshi cricketer. The claim gained attention as users stressed on the security issues of Hindus residing in Bangladesh.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be misleading. The house on fire is not the residence of Liton Das, but of a former Bangladeshi cricketer turned politician Mashrafe Mortaza.

Sharing the image, a social media user wrote, “The house of Liton Das was set on fire by Islamists. This is the condition of an elite Hindu of Bangladesh. Just imagine the condition of common Hindus.”
Fact Check-
A Google Reverse Image Search led us to the same image published on Firstpost website on 6 August 2024. According to the report, protestors in Bangladesh set Mashrafe Mortaza’s house on fire. Mortaza, a former cricketer turned politician and a member of Parliament from the Narail-2 constituency of the country. Post the resignation and exodus of PM Sheikh Hasina from the country, protestors attacked Mortaza’s house and set it on fire.
According to the Dhaka Post report, the activists vandalized Awami League political party offices at many places However, no casualties were reported in these incidents. After PM Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled from the country, the protestors celebrated the victory and later, vandalized the house of Mashrafe bin Mortaza and set it on fire in Mahishkhola region.
