A video claiming that a boundary wall of newly built Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station fell after the first rainfall of the season is going viral on social media. It was inaugurated by PM Modi around six months ago got a facelift ahead of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. The users who shared the video claims that “BJP has committed corruption even in Lord Ram’s Ayodhya. The 20-meter-long boundary wall of Ayodhya railway station has collapsed. This station was inaugurated by Narendra Modi just 6 months ago. This broken boundary wall is exposing the corruption of the BJP. It is clear – do not expect quality and guarantee in BJP’s ‘corruption model’.”  Through this video, the opposition parties taunting the BJP government.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword search on Google and the results led us to a post by Northern Railway shared on 23 June, 2024 stating that “1. It is informed that the wall shown in the video is not part of the main station building but between the railway and private land. 2. It collapsed due to digging work being carried out by private persons from the other end and waterlogging in the private area. 3. Railways will take immediate action.”.

The DRM Lucknow NR also tweeted a similar message with the three points on the same day.

Keeping this in mind, we conducted additional search and found a post shared by the PIB fact check including the viral video screenshot. The post states that “The boundary wall shown in the video was part of the old station. The wall collapsed due to excavation work by a private person & water logging in a private area.”

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found that the viral claim made along with the video to be Misleading. Railway confirmed that the wall in the video was not part of the main station building. It was situated between private and railway land and collapsed as a result of excavation work and waterlogging on the private land.
