WHAT’S THE CLAIM?

In the 30-second video, you'll see heaps of cash mainly consisting of ₹500 notes.

The text along with this video reads, “A raid was conducted at the home of Shekhar Agarwal, the most honest leader of the country's most honest party, Aam Aadmi Party, in Surat, Gujarat. Seeing this amount of money, you will be able to judge his honesty and his election preparations.”

FACT-CHECK

A key-word search led us to a video uploaded by NDTV on YouTube on 10 September 2022.

According to the report, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials recovered over Rs 17 crore from the Garden Reach residence of businessman Aamir Khan in Kolkata. The ED search team was accompanied by Bank officials and central forces.

The probe agency said the raids were connected to a mobile gaming application, which has been cheating people.

According to an ED statement, the case was registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following a complaint by Federal Bank officials against Khan and others for defrauding the users of the e-Nuggets mobile gaming app.

CONCLUSION

Hence, it is clear that an old and unrelated video from Kolkata is falsely claimed to be a raid at Aam Aadmi Party leader’s house in Surat.
