This is an old incident that happened in Bihar three years ago.

General elections will be held in India from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. As the general elections approach, political parties are actively campaigning for them. Meanwhile, in North India, a video of women shouting abuses at a BJP campaign van and kicking it out of the village has gone viral on social media.
In the video, we can see that the villagers are asking the BJP’s campaign vehicle to go back using abusive language. Seeing the anger of the people, we see that the driver of the vehicle is also going back. Meanwhile, we can see that the villagers are also tearing the posters on top of the vehicle.
The caption of the viral video states, “BJP’s trend beyond 400 have started coming #NoVoteToBJP”
But is this video about the current rage against the BJP? Let’s check the truth
Fact Check-
We started our investigation by observing the video carefully and found that the people were talking in Hindi. So we searched using keywords related to the incident we see in the video. Then we got a lengthier video of the incident.
According to the caption of the post, this video is of an incident that took place during the Bihar assembly elections in 2020. It was held in Kudhni assembly constituency of Muzaffarpur, Bihar. “When the campaign vehicle of BJP MLA Kedar Prasad Gupta from Kudhni in Muzaffarpur reached a village, women abused him so much that you cannot even imagine. The women tore the posters on the car and forced the car to reverse”
Hindi media website Jansatha also reported about this incident. According to Jansatha’s report, MLA Kedar Prasad Gupta did not come to that part even once in five years. Now when they came to ask for votes, the women angrily shouted at the vehicle and drove it away from the village.
So the video of women shouting abuses at a BJP campaign van and kicking it out of the village is not recent. An old incident from Bihar is falsely linked to the upcoming 2024 General elections.
Conclusion-
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This is an old incident that happened in Bihar three years ago. It has nothing to do with the upcoming general election campaign.
