Fact Check-

We began our investigation by conducting a reverse image search on Google, which led us to a similar video uploaded on YouTube, and it says that the viral footage is from Bangladesh. The caption states “2022 Most Packed Eid Festival Special Train of Bangladesh Railway”.

Further searches led us to a report published by Daily Mail  published on 13 May, 2022, that featured screengrabs from the same video. The report stated that this video showed thousands returning after celebrating the Eid holiday.

We noticed the logo of “BD Train Express” visible in screengrabs shared by the Daily Mail. Keeping this in mind, we searched and found a YouTube channel with the same name. There, we found the extended version of the viral video. It was uploaded on 1 May, 2022. The title states “When people risk their lives to return home.” It further added that this video was shot in Balashpur, Bangladesh.

As per reports, overcrowded trains are a common sight in Bangladesh especially during the Eid holidays when people from different parts rush home. Hence, we can ascertain that the viral video is old and not from India.

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False.
