We started our investigation with the help of keyword search on Google whose results led us to a tweet by Supriya Sahu, additional chief secretary, environment, climate change and forests. It states, “Please do not spread fake news and create panic. This video is not from Chennai. This has been fact checked by TN Government”.

As per reports, a video of the incident surfaced on the internet where a person on a two-wheeler was seen stopping his vehicle after spotting the crocodile.
