We started the investigation with a keyword and reverse image search on Google and we found a similar image of coffins wrapped in the Israeli flag in a post on Twitter on 5 September, 2024 shared by The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post. The post was captioned, "Protesters at Habima Square in Tel Aviv on Thursday afternoon”.

Moving forward, we found a report in The Times of Israel which also featured an image of this protest from a different angle with a caption “Carrying fake coffins, protesters march in Tel Aviv to demand hostage deal”. The report states that around 300 people marched from Tel Aviv's Habima Square to the IDF headquarters, calling for a ceasefire deal to secure the release of hostages from Gaza. The protests began after the IDF reported the recovery of the bodies of six Israelis killed by Hamas earlier.

Euro News also shared a video regarding this incident under a caption " Protesters march in Tel Aviv with makeshift coffins to demand release of Gaza hostages” on YouTube on 6 September 2024.

Meanwhile, we looked for reports of hundred IDF soldiers killed by Hezbollah but could not find any credible information. So we can understand that an image from a protest held in Tel Aviv falsely shared linking to the death of hundred IDF soldiers.

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral image to be Misleading. This image is from a protest with fake coffins held on 5 September 2024 in Tel Aviv's HaBima Square.
