Old Video From Gujarat’s Patan Is Going Viral Linking To The Sri Ganganagar Rape Accused.

Recently, a video of a lady beating a few men in police custody while parading in front of a crowd went viral on social media. Sharing the video, users claimed that these are the culprits of the Sri Ganganagar minor rape case.

However, upon investigation, we found that the claim was misleading. The viral video is old and unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar rape case. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to the YouTube channel of News18 India, where the viral video was uploaded on March 20, 2026. According to the caption, the video was from Gujarat.

This makes it clear that the video predates the Sri Ganganagar minor rape incident.

Moving forward, we found a report published in Zee News Gujarati on March 18, 2026, that contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. 

The translation of the report read, “Amidst police security, a mob of 15 to 20 people, armed with deadly weapons, attacked Bhavesh Desai’s farmhouse in Jilia village of Chanasma taluka of Patan district on Sunday midnight, pelting stones and creating a sensation. In this attack, the Bolero car of Chansma police, which had come for security, and 112 vans were also attacked, breaking the windows of 112 vans. Amidst all this, the most shocking scenes have come to light. The police stationed for security were fleeing after seeing the goons. Seeing the terror of the attackers, the police vehicle returned to Chansma to get more police force. During this, the attackers had severely vandalised the gate of the farmhouse. Following the incident, separate teams were formed, and around 18 accused were arrested, and today they were taken out in public procession and taught a lesson in law.

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the Sri Ganganagar minor rape case.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show the culprits of the Sri Ganganagar minor rape case. This is an old video from Gujarat’s Patan.
