However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The viral video is old and not from India. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook post on 16 September 2025 that contained some photos similar to the screenshots from the viral video.

The translation of the Nepali caption reads, “Sad news: 16 soldiers injured in a truck accident of the Nepali army near Churiyamai, Makwanpur.

Police say 3 among the injured are in critical condition.”

This makes it clear that the video predates the Doda accident.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a similar video, shot from a different angle, on Facebook.

According to the post, the video is from Churiyamai, Nepal.

We found another Facebook post on 17 September 2025 containing the viral video.

We found a report published in My Republica on 16 September 2025 which read, “As many as 16 Nepali Army personnel were hurt after the army’s truck met with an accident in Churiyamai area of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-15 on Tuesday. According to the Makwanpur District Police Office, 16 people were injured in the accident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal informed that the injured have been sent to Hetauda Hospital for treatment. He added that a police team is heading to the site and further details are yet to come.”

Another report read, “Sixteen Nepal Army personnel were injured when a military truck met with an accident along the East–West Highway at Churiyamai, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-15, on the Makwanpur–Bara border Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at around 2:50 p.m. when a team under Deputy Commandant Harsha Bikram Adhikari from No. 2 Rajdal Battalion, Tanahun, was travelling toward Dhanusha. Of the four army trucks in the convoy, the one bearing registration number Lu Ga 280 skidded off a roadside bridge and plunged 10–12 feet into a stream, police said.

There were 22 soldiers onboard. According to Makwanpur Police spokesperson DSP Shyamu Aryal, 16 were injured, including three in serious condition while others sustained minor injuries.

A police team led by DSP Aryal was deployed to the scene, and with the help of the Nepal Army, the injured were rescued and rushed to Hetauda Hospital for treatment.”

A CCTV footage of the accident can be seen here.

This makes it clear that the viral video is from Nepal.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show the recent accident of an Indian Army vehicle in J&K’s Doda. The video shows a Nepali Army Vehicle accident near Churiyamai, Nepal in September 2025.
