A video of people creating a ruckus by throwing cartons and looting some packets is going viral on social media with a claim that it shows RSS members attacking a Catholic school in Mancherial, Telangana. The users who share the video claimed that the principal, Fr. Raimon Joseph, was attacked and a tilak was forcibly applied to his forehead.
The caption of the post states, “After Attacking Muslims, RSS extremists have now turned their violence towards the #Christians, At St. Mother #Teresa Catholic School in Mancherial, #Telangana, they attacked the principal, Fr. Raimon Joseph, forcibly marked his forehead with a tilak”.

Fact Check-
We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video shared by Jist News on Instagram on 27 November 2025. The caption reads, “A mass wedding in Hamirpur collapsed into chaos when people rushed toward the snack counters after the ceremonies. The crowd pushed and grabbed at packets of chips, leading to a stampede-like situation where several people fell and were injured”.

Moving forward, we found the original sourced video was uploaded by Live Hindustan on their YouTube channel on 26 November 2025 titled ‘Hamirpur News: Chips packets looted at a mass wedding, including the groom’.
We also found several other news reports regarding this incident. According to Indian Express report, it was a government-sponsored mass wedding held on 25 November at the playground of Swami Brahmanand Vidyalaya in Rath town. Guests rushed to grab snacks and looted boxes of chips and other food items.
Next, we conducted keyword search for attack on a missionary school in Telangana and we found a news report from April 2024 stating that a mob vandalised a missionary school in Telangana’s Mancherial district and assaulted the institution’s staff after the principal questioned some students wearing religious attire on campus. The report also mentioned that several men surrounded Principal Joseph, assaulted him, and forcibly applied a tilak on his forehead.

So, based on all these evidences we can understand that an old incident is falsely linked to ruckus during a mass wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district.
