Fact Check-

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar YouTube video uploaded on 1 July, 2025 by a Bangladeshi media outlet, Channel i News. The caption written in Bengali can be roughly translated as, “At least 40 injured in bloody clash between two BNP factions in Austagram”

Taking a cue from this, we conducted a keyword search, which led us to several news articles by Bangladeshi media outlets regarding the incident and confirming its location and context.

According to Dhaka Mail report, the incident occurred on 1 July, 2025, at Abdullahpur in the Khairpur-Abdullahpur Union of Austagram Upazila in Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh. The violent clash left at least 40 people injured. Reports also mentions that the confrontation involved incidents of arson, looting, and vandalism.

Another report states that, “At least 40 people were injured in a fierce clash between two BNP groups in Ashtagram, Kishoreganj. Houses were vandalized, looted and arson were also reported during the clash. The dispute is reportedly between ‘Union BNP President Kamal Pasha and Kishoreganj District Volunteer Party Joint Convener Farhad Ahmed.’

As the video gained traction on social media, the official account of the police in Assam’s Golpara issued a clarification on Twitter. The post states, “A fake video in circulation falsely claimed that the incident happened in Goalpara. We request everyone not to get carried away and spread such rumours to ensure peace and order. We have initiated an enquiry to identify the miscreants for taking necessary legal action.”

So, it is clear that the viral video shows a political clash in Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh. It is unrelated to Assam.

Conclusion-

Fact crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This viral video shows a political clash between two factions of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh.
