We started our investigation with a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a video uploaded by Al Jazeera on 17 October, 2025, showing a closer shot of the same explosion. According to the media outlet, the video is from 16 October, 2025, showed explosions in Southern and Eastern Lebanon as Israeli warplanes targeted the area despite a ceasefire deal in November 2024.
Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found a report by BBC News, published on 16 October, 2025. It stated that the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Israeli airstrikes on the south resulted in one death and seven injuries, while the Israeli army said it targeted Hezbollah and its allies. “Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed that the Israeli raids targeted “civilian facilities,” condemning what he described as a violation of last year’s ceasefire agreement. Aoun said that the repeated Israeli aggression “comes within a systematic policy aimed at destroying productive structures, hindering economic recovery, and targeting national stability under false security pretexts,” as he put it,” read the post’s caption.
Based on these evidences, it is clear that the viral video does not show Pakistan’s recent attack on Afghanistan.
