However, upon investigation, we discovered that the claim is misleading. The viral video is old and unrelated to the racial abuse case in Malviya Nagar. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

At the beginning of our investigation, we noticed a signboard in Bengali. We could read the words “উত্তর ত্রিপুরা (North Tripura)”, “Dharmanagar” and আদালত (Adalat/Court)” on the signboard.

This hinted that the video could be from Tripura.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search and a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook page where we found a video report on the murder case of a delivery person Prasenjit Sarkar. The video was uploaded on December 30, 2025.

We noticed several similar clips to the viral video in this video report. A comparison between the screenshots from the viral video and the video report can be seen below.

We found a news report on a YouTube channel on 18 December 2025. The description of the video read, “The North Tripura District Police achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation into the demise of delivery worker Prasenjit Sarkar. In a late-night operation on Wednesday, police apprehended three primary accused individuals from the Karimganj district of neighboring Assam. North Tripura Superintendent of Police Abinash Rai provided details of the arrest.”

Prasenjit Sarkar Death:

According to a report published in the Times of India, “Tension prevails at Dharmanagar, a northern town in Tripura near the Assam border, following the suicide of a 23-year-old courier boy, Prasenjit Sarkar. The young man reportedly took his own life after being publicly humiliated and assaulted by a group of youths, allegedly led by a female teacher from a private school.

The incident has sparked widespread protests, with residents from various political backgrounds uniting to demand justice for Sarkar. CM Manik Saha announced that an investigation is underway and assured that those found guilty would face consequences. He urged the community to maintain peace and calm to facilitate a thorough investigation into Sarkar’s death.

According to reports, Sarkar, who worked as a delivery person, was assaulted in public following a disagreement with a group of young men and women. A video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to significant humiliation for him. Family members claim that the mental anguish and emotional turmoil from the event drove Sarkar to hang himself on Dec 14…”

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the racial abuse case in Malviya Nagar, Delhi.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video doesn’t show the arrest of the Malviya Nagar couple accused of racial abuse. This is an old video from Tripura that shows the accused of a delivery person Prasenjit Sarkar’s death being taken to the Dharmanagar Court, North Tripura.
