The footage shows several players, including middle-order batter Aaron Jones and Indian-origin players Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Utkarsh Srivastava, relishing the street food at a roadside stall. While some reports and social media posts claimed the video was filmed in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai ahead of their 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup opener against India (scheduled for 7 February, 2026).

Fact Check-

We started our investigation with keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us toa similar video posted on the Instagram page of a pani puri shop named shreeganeshpanipuri on 4 February, 2025. The caption reads: “USA CRICKET TEAM VISIT @shreeganeshpanipuri SHREE GANESH PANIPURI.” The post also tags the location as Shree Ganesh Pani Puri.

A search for the marked location on Google Maps reveals that the shop is in Anand, Gujarat, confirming that the video was not shot in Mumbai. For confirmation, our Gujarat team spoke with the shop’s vendor, Hitesh Patel. He stated that the video shows members of the USA cricket team enjoying pani puri at his shop. He clarified that the video was at least a year old and not recent. He further confirmed that the shop is based in Anand, Gujarat. 

He said, “This video was recorded last year. They visited the shop at night to enjoy pani puri and left feeling very happy after their meal. He confirmed that the video was taken at his shop”.

Moving forward, we also found a report published by Gujarat-based local news outlet Bombay Samachar regarding this. The report details the video of the USA cricket team enjoying pani puri, confirming it dates back to February 2025 and that the location is Anand, Gujarat. The video was not linked to recent events nor to Mumbai.

So, we can understand that an old video of players of the USA cricket team visiting a pani puri stall in Gujarat’s Anand was falsely shared as a recent video from Mumbai linking to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo has found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This video was taken in February 2025 at Shreeganesh Panipuri, a pani puri stall in Anand, Gujarat. It is not from Mumbai and has nothing to do with recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup developments.
