We started our investigation by running a reverse image search along with a relevant keyword search on Google. The results led us to multiple Instagram posts state that the video was filmed during a protest rally held on 11 January, 2026, in Paris, organised in support of protests in Iran.

Moving forward, we came across some posts identifying the woman as Camille Eros, a French activist. In a reply to a user on X, Camille explicitly clarified that the video was recorded in Paris, France, directly contradicting claims that it was from Iran.

So, the viral video is from a protest in Paris. We found a report published on the website Euronews.com on 12 January, which mentioned a rally in Paris between Iranian protesters and those in support of the exiled Crown Prince. Following this lead, we searched Camille Eros’s social media profiles and found the same video uploaded on her X account and on her Instagram account also on 11 January.
Camille Eros is a French activist and the official spokesperson for Collectif Eros (a French collective focused on women’s rights, anti-Islamism, and solidarity actions, often aligned with feminist and secular causes).
We carefully analysed the footage and compared it to Google Maps Street View. The building visible close to the woman in the video is similar to those found at Place Victor Hugo in Paris. The alignment of the buildings and the street layout indicate that the video was shot in Paris.
