Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to the same video uploaded on YouTube on 23 March 2023 under the caption, “Gurgaon snowfall”. This indicates that the viral video is not recent.

Upon further search, we found news reports dated 19 March 2023 to support this video. The reports mentions that Gurugram witnessed scattered rain and hailstorm, leading to a drop in temperature.

Moving forward, we found a Twitter post shared on 19 March 2023, which carried an image resembling the viral video. It also mentioned that Gurugram had experienced hailstorm.

We checked for news about snowfall in Gurugram and found reports indicating that temperatures in the city dropped to 0.6 degrees Celsius amid a cold wave warning from the IMD; however, there was no snowfall or hail recently.

So, an old video of a hailstorm in Gurugram is being circulated with a misleading claim that it depicts recent snowfall in the city.
