Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search, whose result led us to a report published by Times of India 0n 8 January 2026 under the caption, “World’s largest Shivling arrives in Bihar after a 2,500-km journey, set for installation at Virat Ramayan Mandir this month”. As per the report, the structure is 33 feet tall and weighs over 210 tonnes. The shivling travelled a distance of 2,500 kilometers and is set to be installed in the soon-to-be-opened Virat Ramayan Mandir in Bihar’s East Champaran.

Upon further search we found many news reports regarding the same. News agency ANI had also shared a video of the shivling on its X account. The caption states, “The world’s largest Shivling from Tamil Nadu has reached Gopalganj and is on its way to the Virat Ramayan Temple in Motihari, drawing many devotees”.

According to Zee News report, the video shows the transportation of world’s largest Shivling, a sacred Hindu symbol representing Lord Shiva, from Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu to the Virat Ramayan Mandir in Bihar. The Shivling is carved from a single granite stone in the Sahasralingam form, featuring 1,008 smaller Shivlings. Measuring 33 feet in height and weighing 210 tonnes, it surpasses the previous record held by a Shivling in Tanjore, Tamil Nadu.

Lord Shiva, one of the Trimurti, is worshipped in the form of a Linga, symbolizing his limitless cosmic energy. The Shiva Linga represents creation, destruction, and ultimate reality. So, a video of a shivling being transported is falsely shared as Indians worshipping a nuclear warhead.

Conclusion- Fact Crescendo found that the viral claim made along with the video is to be False. This viral video shows the transportation of the world’s largest Shivling from Tamil Nadu to Gopalganj, Bihar.
