When Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Russian President Vladimir Putin, a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, he shared that image on his X account on 5 December 2025. You can see the image below.
Major media outlets, including NDTV, India Today and Hindustan Times, reported the event. There are claims that Putin used the same Bhagavad Gita in the image. However, this image has not shown anywhere on the Kremlin’s social media accounts.
Furthermore, no Russian or international media have published this image. At the same time, when the picture was closely examined, we found several signs typically associated with AI-generated images: unnatural lighting, inconsistent shadows, distortions around Putin’s fingers and mismatched detailing on the book’s cover. We can see the finger that should be below the book at the top of the book. Such anomalies are common in images created using A.I.
When we checked this image on the A.I. recognition website Hive Moderation , we realized that there is a 99.9% chance that this image was created by A.I.
This test indicated that it was likely created using Gemini 3. When we checked this image on Google Gemini, Gemini confirmed that this image was created using Google A.I. after performing a Synth ID test.
