
Recently a letter allegedly issued by Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University went viral on social media. The letter states that students’ attendance at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme has been made mandatory and 50 internal marks will be given to each student for it.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim is false. No such letter has been issued by Devbhoomi Uttarakhand University. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by conducting a relevant keyword search. This led us to the official Facebook page of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University – Dehradun, where we found a post on 8 November 2025, refuting the viral claim.

The caption of the post read, “It has come to our attention that a fake notice has been circulated in the name of DBUU regarding marks for the upcoming visit to FRI on 09 November 2025.
We would like to clarify that the notice is completely false and not issued or approved by the University. It does not bear any official signature, reference number, or authorization.
Please rely only on official DBUU communication channels for accurate information.”
Further, we found a tweet on the official X handle of PIB Fact Check on 8 November 2025 refuting the claim.
This makes it clear that the viral letter is fake.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. As claimed, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University has not issued any letter stating that students’ attendance is mandatory at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme. The university refuted the claim.
