However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. In the original video, Rahul Gandhi was talking about PM Narendra Modi. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a longer version of the video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress live live-streamed on 29 October 2025. The description of the video read, “LIVE: LoP Shri Rahul Gandhi addresses a joint public meeting with Shri Tejashwi Yadav | Darbhanga, Bihar.”

From around the timestamp 34:50, the viral clip can be seen. In this video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen criticising PM Narendra Modi. He was referring to Narendra Modi’s scheduled ‘Holy Dip’ in the Yamuna during Chhath Puja. A comparison between the viral video and the original video can be seen below.

This makes it clear that the viral video is incomplete.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. Rahul Gandhi didn’t mean himself while saying “I don’t get any disease, I have a direct connection with God”. In the original video, Rahul Gandhi was referring to Narendra Modi.
