Afghanistan and Pakistan are currently at war. Pakistan claims to have killed 200 Afghan soldiers, while Afghanistan claims to have killed 58 Pakistani soldiers.
Against this backdrop, a video of a plane crash site is going viral on social media. Users are claiming that this is a recent video of a Pakistan AirForce fighter jet crash which was shot down by Afghanistan.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video from Rajasthan when a training fighter jet crashed in a city.
What’s the claim?
Sharing the video, a social media user wrote, “PAF jet crashed inside Pakistan territory in Bajaur (shot down by TTP commandos), Pakistan army on a cleanup job”

Fact Check-
A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video uploaded on the Hindustan Times YouTube channel on 29 July 2022. According to the report, two Indian Air Force pilots were killed during a training session near Barmer in Rajasthan. The IAF said the aircraft was on a sortie from Utarlai air base and the accident took place at around 9:10 pm in which both the pilots lost their lives.
The Hindu reported that the incident took place during a training flight near Barmer in Rajasthan, where the aircraft crashed, killing both the pilots on board. The Indian Air Force expressed deep grief over the loss and has launched a formal investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The video is of an old incident of an Indian Air Force fighter jet crash and not linked to the current Afghanistan-Pakistan war.
