Old Unrelated Videos Going Viral As Zubeen Garg’s Last Moments Underwater In Singapore.

Recently a video containing two different clips went viral on social media claiming it to be the last video of renowned singer Zubeen Garg who passed away in Singapore in a tragic incident on 19 September 2025. The first clip shows a diver underwater near a sea creature and the second clip shows a diver lifting another diver out of the water. The diver near the sea creature in the first clip and the person who can be seen facing difficulty breathing in the second clip have been claimed to be Zubeen Garg.

However, as we investigated, we learned that the claim was false. The viral clips don’t show Zubeen Garg. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search.

First Clip

A reverse image search of the first clip led us to a Facebook page channel where a clip similar to the viral clip was uploaded on 25 February 2024. 

The caption of the video read, “GIANT MORAY EEL. Have you ever taken a selfie with monster eel ?👌🏼 Don’t forget the distance. 🤓safety stop 5 / 3 Dive safe 👌🏼

We noticed a tag “mahmoud_diving_instructor” and “Egypt” written in the caption.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search that led us to the Instagram handle containing the original clip. 

The video was uploaded on that Instagram handle on 9 February 2024.

This makes it clear that the clip doesn’t show Zubeen Garg swimming underwater in Singapore recently.

Second Clip

A reverse image search of the screenshots from the second clip led us to a YouTube channel where it was uploaded on 19 July 2025. The description of the video reads, “He Couldn’t Breathe in 78 Meters Deep, and This Happened!

When this man was coming up from 78 m deep in the sea, he ran out of breath and lost control after a few minutes. But he was incredibly lucky. Trained divers were watching over him. They pushed him to the surface and held his mouth to prevent water from entering. He was unconscious for a few seconds until he regained consciousness and they saved his”

The same video was uploaded on Dailymotion three months ago.

The description reads, “A terrifying moment as a professional diver loses consciousness after diving to a depth of 78 meters. The deep dive took a dangerous turn as the diver blacked out during ascent, prompting an urgent rescue by the safety team. Thankfully, quick action prevented a tragedy. Watch the intense footage and see how close this came to disaster.”

This makes it clear that the clips in the viral video are old and unrelated to Zubeen Garg.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The clips in the viral video don’t show Zubeen Garg’s last moments before his death in Singapore. Both clips are old and unrelated to Zubeen Garg.
