A video related to the Bihar elections is going viral on social media. In the video some people are seen fleeing away after being chased by the mob. With flags in their hands, it looks like a political rally.
Users are claiming that this is a recent video from Bihar, where the public is beating and chasing away BJP party workers. Using this video, it is being portrayed the support of public to the opposition party.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video of a fight between TRS and BJP party workers in Telangana. This video is not related to Bihar elections.
Fact Check-
At the beginning of the investigation, we did a reverse image search of the key frames of the viral video. We found the same video uploaded on TV9 Telugu’s YouTube Channel. The caption of the video read’s “TRS-BJP clash in Jangaon”
We found the same video shared on Times of India website on 10 February 2022. According to the report, Prime Minister Modi had given a statement in the Rajya Sabha on 8 February 2022 regarding the formation of Telangana state, in which he said that the way Andhra Pradesh was divided during the Congress government was wrong. Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) protested against this statement, where they tried to burn the effigy of Prime Minister Modi. BJP workers protested against it which led to a clash between the workers of both the parties.
Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video of a fight between TRS and BJP party workers in Telangana. It is not related to Bihar elections.
