Video From Tajikistan Going Viral As A Recent Iranian Attack On Israel’s Home Ministry.

A video of a massive fire went viral on social media claiming it to be a recent Iranian attack on Israel’s Home Ministry.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is from Tajikistan. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 20 June 2025. We saw a clip similar to the viral video in this YouTube video. The description of the video read, “A fire has broken out at the “Yakkasaroy” “Temurmalik” restaurant in Khujand. Hopefully, no one will be hurt.”

We found the viral video on an Instagram handle uploaded on 20 June 2025. The caption of the post read, “During the fire at the Yakkasaroy (Temurmalik) restaurant in Khujand city, dozens of young people helped to remove tables, chairs, and other valuables from the restaurant. Although the restaurant was completely destroyed by fire, with the help of young people, some items inside the restaurant were taken out and thus saved from the fire. 

Of course, we express our gratitude to these young people. 

All residents are respectfully asked to be careful with fire. Be sure to help each other during such incidents. 

In case of a fire, call 101!”

Moving forward, we conducted a relevant keyword search which led us to a report published on 19 June 2025. The report read, “In the city of Khujand, the Temurmalik restaurant, known among locals as the “ship restaurant”, caught fire. The building is located on the bank of the Syr Darya River, next to the Kamoli Khujandi Culture and Recreation Park.

The fire occurred on the afternoon of June 19. According to local media, six fire crews were dispatched to the scene. By 5:00 p.m., the fire had not yet been completely extinguished. The causes of the fire have not yet been determined; experts will begin investigating the circumstances after the fire has been completely extinguished.

The Temurmalik restaurant was opened in April 2019. The building consists of three floors: on the first floor there is a cafe for 100 people, on the second floor there is a restaurant for 200 people, and on the third floor is a summer terrace.

The facility was built on the initiative of Tajik entrepreneur Abdurasul Radzhabov, head of Abdurashid LLC. According to unofficial information, the restaurant was recently leased by the owners of the Yakkasaroi chain.”

We searched for the Yakkasaroy restaurant on Google Maps, but couldn’t find a “street view”. 

According to reports, the Akkasaroy restaurant is located on the banks of the Syr Darya near Kamoli Khujandi Park. We geolocated the place which can be seen here.

Searching for other nearby places to the Yakkasaroy restaurant, we found the Sugdiyon Hotel on Google Maps. The visuals matched the viral video.

This makes it clear that the viral video is from Tajikistan.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show a recent Iranian attack on Israel’s Home Ministry. The video shows a fire incident that took place in a restaurant in Khujand, Tajikistan.
