A video of a man hammering a rubble to rescue a person under the rubble went viral on social media claiming it to be a rescue operation in the BJ Medical College Hostel after the recent Plane Crash in Ahmedabad.
However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video predates the Ahmedabad Plane Crash and is not related to the Ahmedabad Plane Crash. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet on 22 May 2025 which contained a video similar to the viral video. The tweet reads, ” ISRAEL DID THIS!
ZIONISM IS EVIL”
The video shows a person cutting a concrete post with a machine. In this video, we could spot the man hammering the rubble in the viral video.
Moreover, there are other similarities as well which can be seen below.
Moving forward, we found an Instagram post where the viral video was uploaded on 27 May 2025. According to the caption, the video is from Palestine.

We found the viral video on the Instagram account of a photojournalist from Gaza, Palestine, Badr Tabash uploaded on 21 May 2025. According to the post, the video is from Khan Yunis, Palestine.
This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the Ahmedabad Plane Crash.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show a rescue operation in the BJ Medical College Hostel after the Ahmedabad Plane Crash. This is an old video from Palestine which has been available on the internet since May 2025.
