We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a video report on the official YouTube channel of the Hindustan Times on 16 May 2023. In the video, the viral clip can be seen. According to the report, PTI leader and former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry ran inside the Islamabad High Court to evade rearrest after his detention was declared illegal by the court.

We found the same clip in a video report on the way office YouTube channel of The Economic Times on 17 May 2023. The description of the video read, “Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry runs for his life to evade arrest. He was seen hunching over and panting when a lawyer came to help him. The footage of his dramatic escape is one for the ages.”

A report published on the Hindustan Times on 16 May 2023 read, “Former information minister of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry, was seen running back to the high court building in Islamabad on Tuesday. This happened moments after the court ordered his release in connection with a case in which he was arrested for inciting violence. Videos that went viral on social media showed Chaudhry running out of his vehicle towards the entrance of the court building. He was also seen hunching over and panting when a lawyer came for his help. Chaudhry informed Justice Aurangzeb that police tried to arrest him despite the bail given by the court. In response to this, the Justice said, “You should have waited for the written order considering you are a practitioner (lawyer) yourself,” the judge said. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry was detained by the police under the “Maintenance of Public Order” regulation after supporters of his party held violent protests in the country following former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan’s arrest last week.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court had ordered the release of the leader after he submitted an undertaking that he would not incite any violence.

Protests erupted in Pakistan after Imran Khan was arrested in Islamabad on May 9. According to reports, the protesters burnt 12 vehicles and 34 motorcycles.”

Another report can be seen here.

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The video doesn’t show Pakistan’s former minister Fawad Chaudhary being taken to the hospital after the alleged nuclear radiation in Pakistan. The video is old. It shows Fawad Chaudhry trying to run away from the cops by dashing into the building of a high court in Islamabad.
