In the recent Delhi Assembly Elections, Congress failed to win a single seat. Against this backdrop, a video of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate went viral on social media. The video shows Supriya Shrinate entering a room joyfully and people start clapping. Sharing the video, users are claiming that Supriya Shrinate was celebrating even after the defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly Elections.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The video is old. Here’s the Fact Check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a YouTube channel where the viral video was uploaded on 5 June 2024. According to the description of the video, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate got emotional after the declaration of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 results.

Moving forward, using relevant keywords, we found the original video on the official X handle of Supriya Shrinate uploaded on 4 June 2024. The caption of the tweet read, “Today, after spending the whole day at the Congress headquarters, when I reached the social media office, the team was excited 

Congress workers have worked very hard, the performance of the social media team was excellent

We are Rahul Gandhi’s warriors, and it is natural to feel emotional today seeing his truth and courage win”

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and not related to the recent Delhi Assembly Elections.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video is old and not related to the recent Delhi Assembly Elections. The video shows Congress leader Supriya Shrinate expressing her joy after the declaration of the results of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
