However, as we investigated, we came to know that the viral photo had been edited. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Pinterest account where a photo of a man in a hospital bed was uploaded two months back. However, no information has been provided about the man in the ‘pin’.
We noticed carefully and found that this image looked similar to the viral image in many ways. The remote control beside the pillow, the mask and the clothes were all the same as in the viral image.
A comparison between the two images can be seen below.
This makes it clear that the viral image has been edited to attach Saif Ali Khan’s face to the original image.
The viral image contained the image of the auto-rickshaw driver who rushed Saif Ali Khan to Lilavati Hospital. A news report containing the image of the driver can be read here.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the viral image has been altered. Saif Ali Khan’s face has been edited to the original image of the man in the hospital bed.
