A video showing a man repeatedly pelting a stone at PM Modi’s poster at a bus stop is going viral on social media linking it to the ongoing 2024 general election. The poster in the viral video shows BJP-led Central Government program Viksit Bharat, and that features Narendra Modi alongside other BJP leaders.

The caption states, “BJP has to introspect why so much of hatred against one man? Why people hate him so much??   Eventually you reap what you sow”

We conducted a reverse image search on Google and whose results led us to a tweet of a congress leader from Gujarat containing the same viral video with a caption, “So much hatred for Narendra Modi in Nagpur”. It was uploaded on 27 December 2023.

Using this hint, we ran a keyword search on Google and the results led us to a news report by The Free Press Journal published on 28 December, 2023 with the caption ‘Nagpur: Man Pelts Stone At Banner With PM Narendra Modi’s Pic; Congress Leader Shares Video’. The report contains a visual from the viral video and the above tweet also. According to the report, the incident took place in Nagpur. “The poster was put up at the Chandramani Nagar bus stop in Nagpur. The man who is donning a white shirt is throwing stones in fit of rage at the Prime Minister. The banner that is put up at the bus stop is the one promoting the Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) across the nation”.
