Kerala Muslim girl Fathima Fida is the pilot of the Calicut-Delhi Indigo flight- viral claim is false

A girl from Kerala’s Malappuram Tuvvur who fulfilled her dream of becoming a pilot is flying a flight from Calicut to Delhi for the first time which is now going viral on social media. The post is accompanied by a picture of a girl.

The caption of the video states, “Fathima Fida, a native of Malappuram kick starts her journey as a pilot from Calicut to Delhi (Indigo airways).This is truly a proud moment for Muslim women in India”.

First of all, a news report reported by the media could be found from a search using keywords to find out the details of this girl in Malappuram Tuvvur. Malayalam media Madhyam Online news has been published on 23 July 2023.The information in the news is as follows-

The news is about Fida Fatima, a native of Malappuram Tuvvur, who secured 27th rank in the pilot entrance exam. Fida Fatima has taken admission in IGRO, Uttar Pradesh, India's leading pilot training center.

So we learned it would not be correct if the girl who was admitted into training barely seven months ago had now piloted her maiden flight.

Fact Crescendo then contacted Fida's father, Abu Juraij of Tuvvoor, Malappuram for more clarification. However, he stated that his daughter Fida was in pilot training and that the misleading information claiming she controlled the flight from Calicut to Delhi was false.
