In this backdrop, social media users are posting an image saying that Amul has now launched a product called "Sharam" in the market. An image which looks like a cheese product by Amul is being shared virally on social media with the claim that Cheese named as Sharam has been released by Amul.After the image went viral, many people believed that it was created by Amul itself, given the brand’s history of creating interesting advertisements.

Fact Check-

Google search with relevant keywords led us to a tweet by Amul, which clarified about the viral image. The company has officially addressed the matter on its social media platforms, denouncing the image as fake and expressing concern about the negative impact it could have on the brand's image.

According to the clarification, “This is for your kind information that a fake message is being forwarded on WhatsApp and Social Media platforms regarding a new type of Amul Cheese." The company emphasizes that the creator of the post lacked authorization and stresses that the image is misleading and disparaging.

They further added in the statement that “We notice in the post that the pack has been developed using Al and is using the Amul brand name poorly and is disparaging. We wish to assure you that the pack shown in this post is not Amul Cheese.”

We also came across a post by Amul on 25 December showing the company’s cheese products, and the name of any cheese product seen in it is not "Sharam"
